The best concert I have been too in a long long time — Mick Hucknall you are a truly amazing singer and performer — your band are brillant — thank you — so sad this is your Farewell Tour — your music will live on forever in my hear …

  2. I’m the black lady with Blonde hair; I sang backup vocalist for The” Godfather of Soul, James Brown” for 36 years. I now travel with Maceo Parker, occassionaly. I was on stage rehearsing when, Mick came to rehearsal, in Augusta Ga., to perform with Mr. Brown at his birthday bash that night! I was so embarassed & hurt when Mr. Brown did not remember who he was and snarled at him. Mick , ( simply ) left the stage and did not return. I was told he left town either that same day or the next.
I have only seen Simply Red’s concert on TV. It was soooo amazing, I felt like I was there in the audience. I have loved Simply Red for ages and still do. My dream is to attend one of his concerts and hopefully sing one of Mr.Brown’s songs with him. I recorded a few duets with Mr. Brown,in the past (“ Summertime” ). If that never happens, just attending one of his concerts, would be one of prayers answered. May God continue to bless you. You spread so much love, threw your music .…, it shows when you are performing. Thank you for the chance to express my love for ‘Simply Red’!
    Always,Martha High

I write with a small tear in my eye — I saw you in London in 1996 just before I left the UK to move to New Zealand and loved you then.… I was honoured to see your last concert here in Christchurch — Mick’s voice was amazing and the band were so tight and just fantastic . You will be missed. Chur Bro’s. (ooh that sounded a bit kiwi for a scots girl to say)

It was my seventeenth birthday on the 19th of October, and my dad took me to the concert as a surprise. I had no clue whatsoever where he was taking me, but I loved it. The music was fantastic, even though I only knew a few Simply Red songs. Now, I know quite a few more!
So, thank you so much for making my birthday so much fun! I had an awesome time.

Simply Red! Simply Amazing! A fantastic show for Christchurch! I was lucky enough to see the first concert 20+ years ago and I’m so pleased I was able to see the concert last night. Mick Hucknall has an amazing voice….so distinguishable from anyone else. I hope we hear something new from him soon. And the band were just amazing! This concert and final tour is part of music history and Mick Hucknall and his band members have left us with a fantastic legacy of music and songs. The standing ovation last night was well deserved. I just wish we could have heard more. Farewell Simply Red….we will miss you.

Great concert last night. 5th time I have seen Simply Red live and they didn’t disappoint.

It didn’t look like there were many people under 30 in the audience but then what do you expect for a band that has been around 25 years!

    Thanks for the memories.
