I took my sister for this one! Was absolutely wild! Danced all the time, lovely evening:)
Great concert at Brighton. In reply to Chris D. Some of us are not very tall and would get crushed if we were standing!
Still had a great time, and can’t wait til Dec 18th.
We came especially from France to see seem again(after the 2 tour dates in Paris last year) and as usual we had a wonderful time, thank you for your voice, thank you for the musicians, thank you for everything.… and could you please come back for a last time in FRANCE many peoples are waiting for you.… SIMPLY RED EN CONCERT UN GRAND MOMENT DE BONHEUR DANS UNE VIE MERCI
Another superb night. We were in the standing bit and just danced all the way through the set. Shame about those in the seats who felt obliged to sit — what a waste! Who could sit through such talent?! My 7th experience of Mick and the band and the closest I have been to them. Hoping to see them at the O2 in December — heavy hints to husband for Christmas/wedding anniversary present. FANTASTIC x
Fantastic!!!!!! An hour and a half really isn’t long enough to cover all the fantastic songs Simply Red have made over the years. Would loved for Mick to have sung You make me feel brand new — please try and include that at the 02 guys, just love it, along with For my Babies.
Looking forward to seeing you on Dec 18th!!
We were having a great time and I was being courteous or so I thought, dancing in the aisle with another lady called Jenny when this man tapped me on the shoulder and told me to sit down as he couldn’t see. I smiled at him and said “don’t worry — everyone will be up dancig soon” and carried on dancing. Next thing he tapped me again and said “I’ve told you once, sit down, I can’t see!” I smiled and repeated what I’d already said but noticed he was getting very aggressive. The security man had seen what was happening and told us we had to sit down. But we were not having any of it, we told him “that we come to a Simply Red concert to enjoy ourselves and dance and that if it was a classical concert we could understand, but Simply Red! No way could we sit down all night!” In the end he opened the barriers so we could stand at the back of the standing crowd, which we could have complained about but we were not going to let a boring miserable man who obviously didn’t know how to enjoy himself, stop us from having fun. The sad thing was though, that because of his attitude, all the people around him remained seated the whole night. What a shame. I noticed quite a lot of people sitting down though, I can only think that perhaps after walking around Brighton in the sun all day they just wanted to sit down all night. Not me, we absolutely loved every minute as usual. Roll on December 8th now, seems strange that our Christmas trees will be up then, seems such a long time to wait.….…..x
Dear Mick and all the Simplyred team .
Thankyou for another great concert.
This time i was on my own but it really did not matter.
I had a great time and really enjoyed myself.
Was at Hampton Court on 16th of June and got a
picture with Pete what a really nice guy he is .
Keep thinking and hopeing that the band will be alright
once you go in a different direction and i wish them all the very best and think you have been very fortunate to work with such talented and very special people.
Have a good rest of the tour and see you in December if not before take care love and kisses from Susan x x x x
wow what a night, just brilliant.….…pity for those that missed it
Wow what a night! Being a Brightonian I was disappointed with turnout! but that sums up Brighton!you never hear about whats going on till its gone! Mick Hucknall RockS! Best live singer ever! So enjoyed the night! and so did all the friends that came and my Dad, whose birthday presant it was!
mick is just fantastic! as a major fan for many years i need to say mick hucknall is still as superb as ever!!
Mick
Really enjoyed Saturday, you looked great and in top form. All the songs were wonderful, even though You make me feel brand new, was missed, my favourite. Looking forward to Tenerife, perhaps you could squeeze it in there! mind you I haven’t got a ticket yet so hope I can when we arrive.
Dave, we enjoyed our chat in Brighton Saturday afternoon, you were very good, as were all the band for the concert, you all work so hard.
Please Mick never stop performing, I love you.

Amazing!!! This concert was a part of my surprise for my wife to our 10th wedding anniversary and it became one great and deep experience for both of us… The performance of all band was superb and Mick was just outstanding!
Great gig, probably the best of the 10 we’ve seen so far this tour. The set-list is consistent but it really does flow from beginning to end. The return of Heaven, Enough and Fake to the Racecourse sets pleased regulars and I’m sure were appreciated by those less familiar with the band…Looking forward greatly to a couple more gigs in the next week or two (especially Tenerife), dissappointed it can’t be more.
As for the venue: Mick made it clear that this would be the band’s last gig at the Brighton Centre. That may be no sad loss. We have experienced the abject shambles and utter incompetence of the Brighton Centre in getting fans into the venue for each of the past 2 years. There is simply no point queueing for hours (4 in our case — we were front of the queue} as they let everyone into what amounts to a holding pen so that the orderly queue turns into a seething mass. The door is then flung open (you have to hope you are stood at the one they open first), and a survival of the fittest ‘British Bulldog’ type event takes place in the stampede to the stage.(one Brighton staff member was knocked over in their self-induced chaos). Last year was every bit as ridiculous.. I write this as I know plenty about crowd control, and would expect my most junior and inexperienced staff member to put together a far more competent plan than the jokers at Brighton.. Baldrick would have a better plan..They are simply clueless..
That was fantastic! Came to the concert from Russia. What a wonderful singer and what a terrific band! Was about to cry at ‘Enough.’ Hope that the farewell tour is not the last one!
Was at Mick’s concert at Moscow Kremlin a couple of years ago. What a lovely spirit we had there!
We do not have too much great music nowadays, we should highly appreciate what we still have.
Mick just gets better and better and whatever he has planned after Simply Red is eagerly awaited. A stunning flawless performance with serious energy from a truly impressive band. This is Hucknall at his absolute best and if you love live bands, with a hint of jazz and amazing sax you should go see them. I’m going to try to get tickets for theO2!
brillant one of the best simply red concerts, these were surprise tickets from my husband and boy was i surprised. all i can say is roll on dec 18th & dec 19th
