Was an Awesome night amazing live i was there with my family it was an amazing night
Does he ever come to the USA, especially San Francisco. I missed him by a month in Lucca.. Your music is so romantic and really is a turn on. Thank you, good luck, and the best of health to all of you.
After seeing the Piazza Napoleone in 2003 on our vacation when Simply Red performed first time in Lucca, we were sure this time not to miss it by one day and took the trip from Amsterdam for the Farewell Tour. A great concert on a small square in a beautiful old town in Toscane. The Opener at 21:30 was a suprise Out on the range and you could see that Mick was in good shape and had a lot of fun speaking fluently in Italian to the crowd. Kenji Suzuki had a great solo part in this song and kicked off stong. After Your Mirror where Mick had is funny moves having a mirror in his hands and Thrill me where Ian Kirkham took the stage with a great sax solo we run into a second suprise: To be With you not so often performed live. A slow down with Heaven originaly from the Talking Heads. Mick was very enthousiastic and let the crowd sing a long early. After the song that made him famous Holding back the years the crowd went crazy with Stars and all the seaters stand up and dancing along looking at the Stars in the clear Lucca Sky with still 29Celcius. Than Micks one liner “Album one track one, Have a lot a fun” with Come to my Aid. No backing vocals this Farewell Tour by the girls but the boys are doing fine. After Money’s and Sunrise our favourite Fairground where the crowd always get crazy and Mick and the band as well. Although the Cuban version will never be topped it was still a great live performance. Ain’t that a lot of love, Something got me started and a great sing a long during If you don’t know me by know closed the night. A great Farewell and the whole band came forward to say goodbye. Our last show will be in Holland Gelredome Arnhem in december, but hopefully we can make it to the Dutch Antilles on 4th of september during the 1st North Sea Jazz addition in the swinging Caribean. That all have a great fare well and see Mick on solo later on (we saw his Solo suprise performance with Bill Wyman and the Rythm Kings in Amsterdam Paradiso and really this is the thing he enjoys now the most in this new part of his career) Enjoy Simply Red’s Farewell. Peter & Conny from Almere Netherlands.
