simply fantastic
who supported Simply Red on this nite?? my mam was at the concert said they were fab but cant rmember the name of them… two lads that used to busk in dublin was all she can recall :/
Just want to add my praise of the Simply Red concert in Dublin ! While he didn’t play all my favourites like ” Jericho ” and ” Every time we say goodbye ” I guess they couldn’t play all of them ! Mick Hucknall’s voice was superb and sounded like it did over 20 years ago. I was honestly mesmerised by it and hope he reads these comments. I am soooo sad it is the end of Simply Red — I grew up with their music and really can’t believe it’s the end. The Musicians were absolutely fantastic on the night too. The band’s music is very distinctive and everybody should have some Simply Red in their lives.…Best of luck in the future guys. XXXX
We’re a couple from Barcelona, and come to Dublin to visit de lovely city (we like it!) and go to our first and last concert of Simply Red. The concert was FANTASTIC, and we would like that Simply Red plays more songs. Thanks for all these great songs.
I can’t understand that Simply Red plays around the world and don’t visit my city, BARCELONA is waiting you MICK !!!!
What us fans have to understand is that Mick has been pretty sick since the Australia tours.I was at the concert at Melbourne on the 6th of Oct. and after the concert he said that he had an inter ear infect and terrible jet lag.
To that I would add most rock stars would say I’m taking time off.Mick is one fine person for not pulling that on his fans.
And jet lag is no joke,we came from the states and it took us 2 plus weeks to recover from it.
Simply Red has so many great songs it would take a couple of hours to do them all.
1 of my favorites are Never Never Love,he didn’t play that in Melbourne but we still loved the concert.
It looks like it Brian, firstly the Man had the flu for heavens sake!secondly, take a look at all the other set lists and they’re all about the same length..
Was at the concert in Dublin. Am I the only one with mixed feelings about the gig. On the one hand the music was fantastic, Mick’s voice is effortlessly amazing, the band was so tight it was impossible not to dance in your seat and they belted out one classic after another. What i can’t understand though is why a band on their farewell tour, with so many great songs, leave the stage a little after 1 hour and then return for two short encores. You could tell that the audience were surprised to see the band leave the stage for the first time as there was no immediate call for an encore even though it was obvious that they were really enjoying the gig.I could understand somewhat if the remaining songs would have diluted the quality of the performances, but songs like A New Flame, Enough, You’ve Got It, Wonderland, Every Time We Say Goodbye and others were there to be played. A lot of people would have made round trips of 10 hours or so and i think they deserve more than 80 mins of music from the band they came to see for the final time. I don’t want to sound too negative because as I say the performance itself was incredible and i know most people there just didn’t want it to end. I’m just a bit dissapointed because during the gig I thought that I would leave with the memory of one of the best concerts i had ever been to, but the abrupt ending ruined it a bit.
OH WOW what a night, having seen simply red several times before i knew what to expect but boy did they thrill me !!!
i just cant believe i will never see them play again
thank you for 25 years of great songs xxxxxxx
Have been a fan of mick and simply red since day one. Have enjoyed every concert they played in dublin over the years.
What a concert at the 02 on sunday night — from the moment that mick came on stage the whole place was rocking — as usual mick was just thrilling. He has a voice that just makes you melt. Although very sad that i wont see him with simply red again im sure (well hope) he will tour again with the faces or maybe an odd solo gig so lets not give up hope of seeing mick again!
best of luck to you mick and all the band xxx
What a BRILLIANT night, this was sadly my first Simply Red concert, one of the best live performance’s I have ever seen.
The best of luck in the future for all the band
Just got back from a wonderful long weekend visit to Ireland (well, five days to be exact!) Dublin people sure do love Simply Red — it was a big party from start to finish and I liked the little opening film, very well compiled. Great set and superb performances from everyone — if you haven’t got tickets for any of the upcoming shows, beg, borrow or even steal them if you can!!! What a band!! I feel so proud to be one of your many supporters.
What an amazing night in Dublin with Simply Red.Mick’s voice is like pure velvet.
What an opening to this concert,.……look in the mirror.
I went through so many emotions on the night.Only pity I have is it was my first Simply Red concert and sadly my last.At least I saw them, legends.Thank you for your wonderful voice and the amazing musicians who produced magic on the night.

xxxxx to mick and the band
I have been to all of Simply Red concerts here in Dublin. Mick is such a great entertainer and front man. He is so talented and is a great singer and writer. In my opinion there is nobody to equal him now in the business. The minute he walked out on stage on Sunday night, he had the crowd in the palm of his hand and the place was rocking. He belted out hit after hit and the fans joined in by singing with him. Such a memorable farewell concert and a great night to remember. We fans will definitely miss his visits to the 02. Thanks for 25 years of great music. Good luck
to you all. Much happiness to you, Mick.

Was at Simply Red’s last performance in Dublin last night. What a truly fantastic, mind blowing concert. Mick Hucknall has one of the most powerful voices in the business. I had goosebumps from start to finish and was thrilled to finally see him on stage. It is such a pity it is their last tour.
A wonderfully entertaining evening.
