I was very fortunate to be given tickets as a birthday gift from my wonderful son and his girlfriend. On our journey to London at 2.30 in the afternoon I fell in the ice and broke my elbow, I rushed to hospital where all of the staff were brilliant and I managed to get to the concert with about 15 mins to spare and in excruiating pain BUT when Mick started to sing the pain was pushed to the back. Simply red you will be missed, I grew up with you.xxxx
Mick disse: Simply Red are no more…porem,o SR estara pra sempre em nossos coracoes.
Simply red Forever!!!

I don´t know what to say or where to start…
Simply Red, you will be missed.
I was in the first row for this final gig, with a little help from my friend(s) ;o)
It was fantastic!!!
Afterwards, many of us were just crying!
The 2 last gigs were the best time of my life, not to forget mentioning our fantastic Fan-Meetings! Met so many lovely people…
Simply Red will always be in my heart, always in my mind, always in my soul, I am plunged in RED forever!!!
Met the best people because of Simply Red, been to fab places because of Simply Red, and most of all, found “my true direction” because of Simply Red!
Simply Red forever and ever and ever.…
<3
Came all the way from Florida, purchased tickets in June, saw SR in NYC in March ’09. This was just the groups best show ever. We are so sad with the break up and the end to SR. Every year we planed a vacation around a SR show. Mick is/was simply the best. We feel like we know each and every performer. Saw them in Sicily, outdoors, GREAT show. We wish each of the performers all the best and hope to see them together one last time in better weather. WE LOVE SIMPLY RED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My wife and I are from Michigan in the United States, and have been Simply Red fans for 20 years. We ahve never been able to see them in th U.S., so we made the trip to England to see the final concert on December 19th. This was our 20th wedding anniversary and christmas gift to each other, so it was very special. The concert was amazing, and everything that we expected it to be. We will treasure the experience forever!!!
THIS IS IT! THIS IS IT! No more after tonight.
Stayed up until 2am (what month???) to get tickets for this concert and my long night was rewarded with front row seats, entertained by Dave and the lovely Dee & Sarah.
Again, I just loved the set list being chronological. I stood there at the barrier, saying to myself, ‘don’t ever forget this moment’ and ‘burn this to memory forever’. It was a very exciting evening for me as I’m sure it was for everyone in the audience and those in the cinemas. I hope those in the cinemas got a good view and were free to get up and dance, just like the audience in the O2.
We frequently flashed our Simply Red fans, which were a great idea by Carol and added to the fun of the final show.
As ever, Simply Red is a much better band live, than what you hear on the album. So if you have an album, you know you’re going to get a fantastic live concert. This final evening was no exception. SR operate as a single entity, when on stage and even on the final night, which must have been filled with angst and nervousness for the band, management and crew, was just perfect.
I hope I waved the Aussie flag high enough for all those Aussies that couldn’t make it. You really were in my thoughts during the show. But hey, we did have a fantastic time with SR in Australia in October. ;-)
Thanks Simply Red for the experiences, memories and life direction.
Cheers
Pat
Did I say, “Oh Those Bloody Sunglasses” . Yes again!
Time for me to go. Hooroo from Australia.
The final O2 concert was as good as ever and again re-inforced why Simply Red has been so successful for so many years. I watched it as a video download as I did not make it to London. I thought the guitar solo for “Holding back the years” was great! I must thank Simply Red for performing at Newmarket Nights in 2009/2010 and for their brilliant concert in Thetford Forest on 11th June, 2010. I absolutely loved the differing song arrangments that evening. And we had brilliant weather too! Alors, bon voyage M. Hucknall et famille.
Fantastic concert. Been a fan since the beginning but only seen Simply Red once before at the London Arena so just had to have tickets to the last show. Took my two daughters aged 14 and 19 and they absolutely loved it — they knew all the words as have listened to so many cds in the car!!!! Thank you Simply Red for a wonderful evening.
Thank you Mick,“Simply Red”,
Went to the “O2”, heard the music, got the “T-shirt” and the memories…
My wife and I flew to the UK from Florida to experience the “Last” ‘Simply Red’ Concert on December 19 at the “O2.” Mere words cannot express what the music and lyrics from Mick and the group have meant to both of us. I would have liked to have been able to personally thank Mick and the group members for what the the music and lyrics have restored to our relationship through the past years. ‘Simply Red’ has truly made a difference to us. I am old enough to remember the “original” song, “If You Don’t Know Me By Now”„I think that ‘Simply Red’ and Mick did it the best !!!
Thank you for including my favorite song, “Night Nurse” which has a special meaning between my wife and me. Thank you again for a wonderful “Last” concert and a fabulous 25 years of good music. Enjoy your beautiful family, enjoy life.
Thanks again,
R.H. (from the Deep South in USA were the “Blues” and “Simply Red” really are “Simply the best”)
Wow!!! What can I say, so glad that we made it. The best ever, fantastic atmosphere just didn’t want it to end.
’Simply Red is no more’ and he was gone with his lovely little girl. Thank you for 25 years of fantastic music, listed to new CD today that son brought me for Christmas, closed my eyes and remembered. Good luck to Mick and all the band, have a good rest.
Mandy and Martin from Thame, Oxfordshire.
I´m from Mexico, and my 36th birthday was on dec 19th, so I had the best b´day present ever. Been in the last Simply Red´s show was magic. The venue was awesome, the show amazing and the experience is something I´ll never forget. Thanks, Mick for this 26 years of great music. God bless you all.
Thank you so much for sunday 19th, what an evening everyone was on a high Mick and the band were amazing so glad to be able to say I was there at the last Simply red concert. I went to nine concerts on the farwell tour and enjoyed them all I went to places I,d never been so sad its all over, the icing on the cake for me was seeing Romy run on the stage what a lovely child no wonder Mick wants to spend more time with Romy and watch her grow up, I hope you go on to enjoy your retirement from Simply Red and maybe have a brother or sister for Romy !!!! it will be sad when the Simply Red web site comes to a close I have enjoyed catching up on you and the band will you have a new web site for Mick Hucknall enjoy your rest you deserve it so much take care xxxxxx

Great music, lyrics and Mick vocals at the last gig, I have enjoyed all your performances all around the world. The evening was truly fantastic and it was a privilege to be there. Thanks to you Mick and Simply Red for many great years of music x
After going to many many concerts all over the world to see Mick and the group nothing was going to stop us going on Saturday 18th December, it took us 2 hours to get out of Southend but once past Basildon the roads had been gritted and we made good time up to London. Wouldn’t have missed it for the world, took Daughter and Son in law as a chritmas gift, we were all so excited — can honestly say it was one of the best concerts we have ever been to and so glad the girls were back on stage, Simply Red is not complete without them. So sad to think we will not be seeing them again but wish Mick all the best for the future and look forward to hearing what he is going to do next — his voice is amazing!! Can’t wait.
I was honoured to be a part of such a wonderful event! I am 31 years old and grew up listening to Simply Red with the influence and thanks to my sister who is now in her 40’s. I have never been to a Simply Red concert, and so this was my first and unfortunatly last concert ;( A special someone managed to get tickets and I was so HAPPY, a wonderful concert, I was dancing and singing to ALL the songs from begiNning to end! It felt like the concert only lasted ten minutes, I had such an amazing time and felt very emotional when the concert had ended!
Mick Hucknall and the rest of the group ROCK! You will be sadly missed ;( I am listening to the GREATEST HITS CD as I am writing this-Simpy Red are and always will be amazing, a very unique group and Mick was absolutely immense during the performance at the 02¬This was a historic event for me, simply brilliant and a million percent mesmeric! Worth every penny and moment of my life…THANK YOU FOR SUCH AN AMAZING SHOW, GOODLUCK AND GOODBYE xxx
I had tickets for both Saturday and Sunday — unfortunately, I missed Saturday’s show due to the snow and my flight from Frankfurt being cancelled. Absolutely wanted to be there for the final show so opted for train journey which, due to the bad weather, took 27 hours from Germany via Belgium and France, finally arrived in London at 5.30pm on Sunday — it was about the same scenario on the way back home (all flights cancelled again) where on top of all things I then cought a cold :-(
BUT it was all so worth it to be at the final show — and what a fabulous night it was! Enjoyed every minute of it and will always remember this special evening as well as all the previous SR concerts I’ve been to over the past 25 years.
BEST LIVE BAND EVER!!!!
Thank you so much for all those special moments and your wonderful music!
Kerstin from Germany
we live in istanbul..
me and my girlfriend bought our tickets months ago for the final night.
we bought our british airways tickets to arrive in london one day earlier (saturday) but the flight was cancelled.
but we decided to find another way to get to london, so we flew to munich, germany to get to london easier, but all flights were cancelled from munich.
so we flew to munster, germany because we found a flight from munster on sunday, so that we could make it just one hour before the concert. the plane took off.. this flight from munster to london is only one hour. but on the air, just 20 minutes left to london, the plane had a technical problem on the windshield heating system..the pilot announced that the plane will be returning back to germany..
we missed the concert with tears..
this still is unbelievable to us..
at last we arrived in london on early tuesday morning.
it took 65 hours to fly from istanbul to london..which normally is only 4 hours.
our seats were in A2.
i still can’t believe what we lived..
we are so upset and deeply sad..
we returned to istanbul on thursday.
Watched Simply Reds last concert at cineworld on Broad St on19th December — what a fantastic idea!
Although we couldn’t be at the 02 arena, watching the concert broadcast live was the next best thing and we all had a fantastic evening singing and dancing in the cinema. It was great to see Mick close up even if you did wear your sunglasses Mick. Your voice was truly outstanding as always Mick and the band were wonderful too. It was fantastic to feel part of a brilliant evening and I can’t wait to get the DVD and CD so I can watch and listen many more times.
Good luck to Mick and the band for what lies ahead for you all.
Thanks for the past 25 years — we will miss you.
Love Tina Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
“Reports of a giant white dome shaped object hurtling towards planet Mars are wholly exaggerated.……“
Mick– you didnt’t have to blow the b****y roof off!
Job done and HOW! For once there aren’t the superlatives to describe this concert. You just had to be there, what a privelege, the band were superb, Mr Hucknall was amazing. As for ‘You made me feel brand new’,well Mick you made everyone feel a million dollars, your voice reached a new echelon.
Thank you Simply Red for the music, ‚good health, good luck & every happiness and all the best from us both. God bless.
Denise & Paul Hooker xx
SIMPLY RED FOREVER!!!!!
MICK MICK MICK YOU ARE FAN..TAS..TIC
OH MY GOD SOOO ORGASmick
AS ALWAYS.Thank you for 25 years of pure unadulterated pleasure. Simply Red will continue to live on in all our hearts and dvd players. I very much doubt if there will EVER be another band like yours.Good luck in your future projects. Mandyxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
We (with my wife) from Latvia, Riga was very unlucky to arrive just in time when everyone went away from concert. Our flight was canceled day before and we just hoped that we could be in time… unfortunately — not. We planed this trip for 8 months. If we knew… we could visit another concert in other place&time, but it could be so fantastic to be at very last one. Tears of my wife was heartbreaking… we listened to SR songs at car all the time.
Fare well Simply Red!
Maybe we’ll meet sometime at winehills!
History made at the O2.
Wow, awesome performance and a super audience that sang along with every song. It was an honor being part of a sold out arena during a little piece of history. I thoroughly enjoyed every song they played. The coolest moment for me was when Romy True came on stage and waved the fans goodby on Micks arm.
For a final concert however I expected more. Besides a few words before Mick played the last song and a video before the concert started was pretty much all that referenced this being the very last concert. Looking at Mick and the band I felt that they were glad this tour was over.
That being said I wish Mick and the rest of the band all the best for the future and thank you for 25 years of wonderful music. You guys put a stamp on world music and it will live on for generations to come.
Godspeed guys.
A fantastic farewell concert and I feel so lucky to have been there, I took my son which was his first SR concert (and sadly last)who was amazed at Mick’s incredible voice. I shall miss SR but am so grateful they have left us with such wonderful music that my husband and I have shared throughout our 25 year relationship.
Thanks for that Lisa, went to the sat show, where we ony got 19 songs, but still excellent none the less.
Made it to Mick’s last performance as Simply Red. It was a bit of a mission from Bristol to London through the snow and travel chaos but soooooo worth it. Have seen him 4 times, 3 as Simply Red and his last night was his best. He went all out and was amazing. So glad we made it. Wicked night, thank you for the years Simply Red. Will listen to your music for the rest of my life xx
5 to 9 sunday morning my friend called to say she wasnt coming to the concert!!! She was going to drive us there from norwich to london. With tears in my eyes I phoned my mum who at 78 saved the day for me. Yes I will come so panic stations bad weather, sunday will we be able to get there!!! Thank goodness for the trains we got to the hotel at 5pm back to 02 at 6.30 said a quick hello to elaine as i collected my tickets from the booth next to her. It was freezing cold but in our hearts was fire and we were ready for the last ever simply red concert and what a concert!! From the very begining to the very last cord Mick and the band did us proud. To have sarah dee chris john steve kevin pete dave and ian on stage with mick was truely amazing I felt so privlaged to have been part of it. My mum loved it we danced sang and cheered a million thank yous to everyone for the past 25 years. To the little girl who nearly stole the show you have an incredable dad and I wish you lots of magical moments. Kind regards Rowena.

Better late than never…I’m back home after my 13-day “tour”, seeing eight wonderful shows, meeting lots of marvellous SR friends and having a ball!!! Not to mention catching the most horrendous cold ever..so I won’t mention it!!!!!
It’s now beginning to finally sink in, that Simply Red are gone. So all I can say is THANK YOU for bringing so much joy, love and happiness into my life. You will always be there in the years ahead. Now let’s look forward to some new music and the beginning of a new chapter for us all.
Mick, you and the boys (and girls) did us proud on Sunday — what a night that was. And we had the chance to see the newest STAR in the Hucknall family — Romy is beautiful and her brief appearance brought the show to a perfect end.
Love to all of you and looking forward to seeing you very soon, wearing your “new career hat”.
Jenny xxxx
So wonderful!!!
Thank you for the best performance&for the chance to watch here in Slovakia, too.
Your music always was, still is and always will be a part of my life. Will miss you much.
4EVER Simply the BEST!!!
From Barcelona to my heart Simply Red the Best.
Im waiting for the concert in DVD.

did not manage to get to the o2 but watched at cinema it was brill please dont split will miss u all
I saw SR concert 23/11 in Vienna and now the last show from London at a cinema in BUDAPEST-HUNGARY. Both were very-very enjoyable. Extra in Vienna: enjoying of a live show, extras in London O2: another setlist, perform of Sarah, Dee, Chris and John, and extra-extra: to see ROMY TRUE.
Thank you Mick, Dave, Ian, Kenji, Steve, Pete and Kevin for the M U S I C!!!
Ano from Hungary
what can i say…the best concert i have ever been to..no one will beat the way mick sings, just cd quality all the way through, had a great night and had great seats 16 rows from the front, not that we sat down…
My 2nd and 3rd Simply Red concerts were fantastic! As was my 1st concert in Mexico City on May 1st. I came from New Mexico, USA to see this band that has sustained me these last 2 years. The music and lyrics, both up beat and ballad, have consoled me, inspired me and cheered me. I’ve been so lucky to meet many of the band members. Those I’ve met, including Mick, were down-to-earth, real. I’ve never followed any other band or celebrity, so this is new for me. Another “blessing” of this band has been meeting, either virtually or actually, the other fans. I believe I have made life-long friendships with some of the most incredible people from so many countries; Mexico. USA, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, UK, Germany, Luxumburg, Serbia, Denmark, Belgium and others I’m sure my middle-aged mind cannot recall. All because we were enchanted by the same gifted red haired man and his band! People in the Medical fields, Law Enforcement, Business, Retirees, Students, Homemakers.. all such unique, friendly and genuine personalities! I got to meet the Simply Red Shop staff this week too.. thank you so much for your caring and efforts!! Seeing Mick leave the stage with Romy was so fitting! Beautiful touch! Thanks to everyone who have been a part of this journey!! Thanks to Romy, Gabriella and all the bans families for sharing their loved ones with us!
If only my journey would come to an end!! Flight canceled! But, I am so lucky to be able to stay in a great hotel until my rescheduled flight!
Happy Solstice, Happy Christmas and my best wishes for everyone’s New Year!!
Patricia
OH MY GOD!!! We had the best night! I sang & danced so much my voice has gone!! We came at the beginning and we were there at the end Mick, and all the times in-between, I have loved every show but Sundays was bitter sweet. Thank you SR for another fantastic show, so sad its ended but what a fantastic journery over the years xx Denise
Absolute genius !!
Ellen and I attended the last two concerts in London (plus quite a few in Germany) — dancing all night long. We had to get drunk on (SIMPLY) RED wine to post our comments from the hearts. Due to the alcohol level we got the set lists (many thanks to Nick for handing those to us after each show) of the 2 events mixed up. So forgive us. We still like our idea of making the song titles part of the message (see Ellen’s post) — we hope you do too. And we had a lot of fun writing it while being stuck in London due to the wonderfully “ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS”.… Hopefully we will make it back home in time for Christmas to join our families.
Mick, we cannot believe that we will not see you on stage anymore?!?!?! Give us more of your wonderful music. We wish you only the best for your future and lots of new Mick Hucknall songs for us.
Love.….
Madeleine & Ellen
Dear Simply Red, here’s our second try for a posting that comes straight from our hearts. The first one from last night — shortly after the concert and the beers in slug & lettuce — was not posted, therefore we herewith attempt it again. In case you will not post it again, do let us know why you’re not posting it. Here we go:
COME TO MY AID, dear Mick. We really loved the two final concerts at O2 in London, it’s not a FAKE. You THRILLed us (ME) to pieces. We can’t believe it’s over. Have a look in YOUR MIRROR and think again about coming back. We are SO NOT OVER YOU. We have no idea where to go next. We do not want to look for A NEW FLAME. We have to call the NIGHT NURSE for remedy. We will always be your BABIES, i.e. your biggest fans. We came all the way from Berlin and Hamburg and got stuck here today with no idea of whether we will get home before Christmas. So, please SAY YOU LOVE us (ME) because IF YOU DON’T KNOW us (ME) BY NOW how can we survive the future without anymore Simply Red concerts. IT’S ONLY LOVE between us and will never go away. From the STARS in the night to the SUNRISE in the morning, attending a Simply Red concert in the first rows is always the RIGHT THING. Luckily MONEY IS not TOO TIGHT TO MENTION: your farewell tour was wonderful. After Berlin, Frankfurt, and Hamburg London was the tops. AIN’T THAT A LOT OF LOVE?????? Every concert gives us the pleasure at the FAIRGROUND all the way. SOMETHING GOT us (ME)STARTED in 1985 and we will always be HOLDING BACK THE YEARS. Please come back. We miss you soooooooooooo much already .….
We were at the O2 last week and then the Glasgow concert. Both were absolutely fantastic as usual. Finished it off by watching the final concert at the cinema in Aberdeen. Don’t think they got the fact, however, that it was a concert, and eventually gave up asking the staff to turn up the volume. Despite that, it was wonderful to see the final show and totally felt part of it. Shed a tear at the end, it’s been a wonderful 25 years of following Simply Red. Thank you for sharing last night with us all. And it was lovely seeing Romy coming on stage for her daddy at the end. Please, please, please release a DVD of last night’s concert. Think we would all love a copy.
AMAZING!
I went to the final gig at the o2 last night to see the band play live for the very first time despite being a massive fan since the ‘New Flame’ album. I’m left feeling gutted I never saw them before and will never get to see them live again as they were truly faultless. Mick’s voice is no different now to what it was all those years ago — The best live act of all time — no question!
Thanks for the music Simply Red!
This area is for reviews of the show — not for people who want to moan about not getting to the show. I too did not go because of the weather — that was my choice. Simply Red is no more — there is not going to be another show — it’s obvious that Mick wants to spend time being a dad — people who’ve followed him for years would realise this. I agree, ask for refunds from the promoter. Sorry to have taken up this valuable space — please put future “non-reviews” in the forum where such posts belong and leave this area for reviews.
Spectacular end to a spectacular band’s career. Have loved every album and every concert and been truly impressed by them all. So glad to have managed to get there and so sorry for those that couldn’t make it due to the weather or other circumstances. Good luck to all the band in whatever you do next — hope you have a ball. x
SOLO AGRADECER A LA BANDA POR ENTRAGAR TODO EN EL ESCENARIO,LAS PRESENTACIONES FUERON SIEMPRE PERFECTAS PREOCUPADOS HASTA DEL MAS MINIMO DETALLE ‚USTEDES SON DE CULTO,DE CATEGORIA Y SIEMPRE GOBERNADOS POR SU PRO_ PIA IDENTIDAD SE LES RECORDARA DE CORAZON . MICK HUCKNALL… 29 DE ABRIL DEL 2010 ARENA SANTIAGO DE CHILE … BETTO…
We overcame a lot of obstacles to be there last night: thank you for not cancelling. We loved every bit of it and the ending with Mick singing ‘Holding back the years’ solo and then waving good bye with his daughter in his arms was magical and very fitting. We’re sad and full of joy at once.
THANK YOU SIMPLY RED !
Still on a high from last nights show. Quite possibly, the best concert that we’ve ever been to! We made the trip from Canada and it was well worth the eight hour flight. First time ever seeing Simply Red and it was better than imagined. The ending with Mick’s daughter running out was very touching. The band was great and so sad to know that we will never see Simply Red again. For our first time seeing Simply Red, it was absolutely the BEST!
19 Dec 2010.Simply Red + Macy Gray live at The 02 Arena,London.Last of their three shows here at the 02 on their UK tour and tonight is Simply Reds LAST EVER SHOW as they are calling it a day after 25 years of selling millions of records and selling out huge tours.Up first is Macy Gray who i saw play in a small theatre in the summer. Her raspy voice and scatty persona i really like. She played her neat cover of Radioheads “Creep”. Also really good was “Why Didnt You Call Me”,a stunning “I Try” and “Beauty In The World”.
Its a nice full house for Simply Red and tonights show is being shown live in cinemas around the world.I have seen them over 20 times in their career.I saw them when their debut single came out and they supported soul legend James Brown at three shows at Hammersmith Odeon in 1985(not one show as the tonights tour programme of their entire gig history suggests).Love him or hate him Mick Hucknall has got a fantastic voice. Its mainly a greatest hits show tonight as expected in the 1 hour 55 mins set.Gems played inc “The Right Thing”,“Its Only Love”,“A New Flame” and stunning cover versions of “If You Dont Know Me By Now” and “You Make Me Feel Brand New”.Also good were “Thrill Me”,“Stars”,“Sunrise” and great versions of “Moneys Too Tight To Mention” and “Fairground”.Mick Hucknall kept his shades on for the entire show.Excellent encores of “Somethings Got Me Started” and “Holding Back The Years” with his young daughter running on stage.A very enjoyable show.I saw him a couple of times in the summer where Mick did a great job as the new singer in The Faces so hopefully some more shows planned with them in 2011.……
Final concert of my 10 gig minitour and sadly the last Simply Red concert I will attend following 25 years of following Mick and Simply Red.
I have so enjoyed every album, concert and friendship of both the fans and band members during this time and so sad its come to an end!
Every concert has been special but this year has been the best ever meeting friends old and new at the various venues. Hard to believe its over! Maybe we could ressurect the convention meetings of the past to keep the memory and cameraderie alive!
I would like to thank the bandmembers who took the trouble to attend the fan meeting at the Slug and Lettuce bar before the concert and spending so much time signing autographs, posing for pictures and chatting to loyal fans.
Now the final concert was a little longer and was 23 songs long as in Manchester at the MEN. Much emotion from fans who sang their hearts out to the 25 years of SR’s back catalogue. Sound was so enhanced with the reappearance of John, Chris, Dee and Sarah. The 2 hours was too soon over and Mick proclaiming Simply Red the end drove home that there would be no more such concerts. So good to see Romy True on stage at the end and Mick scooped her up for a final wave as he left the stage for the final time as lead singer of Simply Red.
Thanks for so many wonderful times and memories and I wish Mick and all band members past and present all the best in their current and future endeavours! A fantastic 25 years!
Ciao
Mick
As always Mick & the band were amazing, every track sounding just as it does on the CD, Mick sings so effortlessly, I danced my socks off & have no voice today from singing along. Thank you for the past 25 years it’s been a pleasure watching you grow, I loved the fact you renamed ‘for your babies’ to ‘for our babies’ the amazing days of Simply Red are now the past, Gabriella & Romy the future, I look forward to the next episode, I wish you health & happiness always — from my favourite track:
’wherever I go now
I’ll follow you
and my heart will be true
I have never known someone
to stay right here
soon you will be right here
Someday In My Life’
what a show! mick you are the simply the best! i had a fantastic evening and a wonderful 25 years of your music! the band were superb! and for your baby girl to run to her daddys arms at the end of the show was a brilliant end x i am sad but i have your music always x mick and simply red forever! you are now a legend!
this has to have been one of the most memorable nights of my life , as an avid fan of SR i’ve supported them on tour where my purse has allowed. So it’s a huge thankyou to my sister and husband who treated me to the last 2 concerts as Christmas/birthday presents. From beginning to end the atmosphere was elctric Macy Gray was amazing. Sorry for those who couldn’t make it but oh so glad i did! Unbeatable you made this fortysomething feel nineteen again thankyou and all the best for your future plans
Fantastic evening at the Cineworld in Yeovil…sang along all the way through.…almost as good — if not better — as being there live at the O2. Like others have said, it brought back many memories of the last 25 years…so sad that it is all over. Loved the little one coming on at the end to be with her Dad — nice touch. Do hope you don’t stop writing those wonderful songs.
I have to say I have still not stopped crying since taking my mum to see Mick last night at the Sowcase in Peterborough. Tears came from somewhere so very deep inside they really hurt. Mum started me off at Wembley many years ago on the life tour. I have followed Mick and hus musicians since the Life tour, I have met Auntie Nelly, met some fantastic fans and even given Mick a kiss and cuddle. Too many magical moments to mention. Manchester, Music and Magic all the way.
Thank you so much Mick and enjoy your family.

What a fantastic week-end, despite the weather although I know this caused heartache for many. South Western trains did us proud getting us to and from London and down to Halsemere with little delay to see the live broadcast in the cutest cinema/theatre you could wish for. Certainly the most intimate show I’ve ever been to! About 20! Most of the audience were pretty reserved but that did not stop me (and my daughter and one kind man who invited me to dance to Fairground — thank goodness!- I had such trouble not jumping up from the start as we all did the night before) We had a brilliant time at both events and I am still a bit emotional about the whole thing but am looking forward to whatever comes next. As earlier reviewers have said Mick’s final words and walking off stage with a kiss for his delightful little girl brought 25 years of joy to a perfect end.
Peace to all
Susiex
We overcame many obstacles to be there last night, thank you for not cancelling. Absolutely loved every bit of it, and the ending with Mick singing ‘Holding back the years’ solo and then waving us off with his daughter was truly
magical and fitting. Thank you Simply Red !
Sunday night at o2 was awesome, it was truely the best concert that i have had the priviledge to go to and see such talent,i have seen several shows but this beat them all, i re met my partner 2 years ago at the bobby bland concert after being apart for 20yrs and now we are still together so this concert was even more special to meXXXX i will soooooooooooo miss the sound of simply red but i have many great memories that will be in my heart foreverxx Thankyou mick and the band for giving me very many special songsxxx this is very much a sad ending for a talented band.. Thankyou you mick for letting us see your daughter too, what an honourxxx Good luck in everything that you doxxx
Fan of Mick and Simply Red for 25 years couldnt make the concert because of the snow-will miss the music but have some fantastic memories xxxx sad times xxxx love you Mick xx
HI Mick, I took my mum and sister in law to see you last night, I went to your first concert back in 87 at Hammersmith and saw you on your last concert. I had the most amazing time, your voice is so effortless, you are the best. I will miss Simply Red. Seeing your baby girl was very emotional. Cant wait to hear your beautiful voice again. happy christmas to you and your family x
Well what can I say the best night ever, having been listening to Simply Red for 25years and seen them so many times Ive lost count and everysong has a meaning in my life with all my ups and downs, last night was and always will be one of the best so sad to have to say good bye.
I myself being one of the many lucky people to have meet Mick and have a photo of me and him in manchester as was invite to watch the recording of a video called “Something got me started” in the year 1990/91 was a whole day meet all the band, meet Mick as he got out a cab at the local pub, band members at lunch break palying pool in the pub, Mick going up to everyone in the line waiting to go back into the studio for the afternoon session was one of the best days of my life and will never forget it just like last night I will never forget.
Mick you are one of the best
Love you loads
Enjoy the rest of your life
Cathy xxxx
From Paignton Devon.
Watched the concert from cinema, what a brilliant idea!
As always it was a fab concert. We will miss you feels like end of an era.
Thank for the memories and music.

спасибо Мик!
под вашу музыку хорошо мечтать и вспоминать прошлое и думать о своих любимых и близких,ценить то ‚что имеешь сейчас.
Brilliant time at the O2 last night…made even better by being allocated seats in block A2, row B! Thank you to the whole Simply Red gang for the music throughout the years, and big appreciation for playing my favourite (A New Flame [and So Beautiful — was fantastic to hear that live again]), Jayne’s favourite (You Make Me Feel Brand New), Sheila’s favourite (For Our Babies), Nicola’s favourite (Fairground), and Ron’s favourite (Holding Back the Years) on both nights.
Good luck and best wishes for the future to all
Julie, Jayne, Ron, Sheila, Nicola, Sue, Ron (London & Kent)
Would like to wish Mick all the best for the future, cant wait for the faces tour. All the best to the band as well who are outstanding. I still cant work out why Mick has drawn a line under SR, a gig every 2/3 years would be great to re-live those amazing songs, I guess it’s just the right time for you. Last nights show was awesome as ever and like every other fan cant beleive we cant do it all again. Thanks for all the memorys and for including Sad old Red last night, I have waited years to hear that!
A very happy Christmas to you, all the band and your families, you should feel very proud today for what Simply Red bought to the world.
SIMPLY FANTASTIC FROM CINEMA OF VALLS, CATALONIA, SPAIN
LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEW CHAPTER
LOVE AND RESPECT
GERARD
Dear Simply Red!
We had a pre-event before the Concert! My Husband is probably your biggert fan in Hungary! He has prepared a nice slide show with pictures and videos from your carrier and shared it with 15 of our friends who were the ones dancing in front of the screen in the Budapest Cinema!!!
Thank you for the past 25 years!
Ester
p.s.: the sound in the cinema was very poor. Shame..
Came over from California to see the show and it did not disappoint!! So happy to be part of the party…so sad to see it end. Thanks for 25 years of great music!
Shame that a lot of us could not make the 19/12 show due to snow — what Simply Red’s management should have done ideally was just as the second big freeze of December was predicted, they ought to have postponed both 18/12 and 19/12 shows. As it transpired, a considerable number of fans including myself could not be there — I had tickets for both nights! (needless to say, I am bitterly disappointed that I could not be there) After all, the country was being told not to travel unless absolutely necessary. Mick, if you’re reading this, or anyone in power as far as Simply Red is concerned, how about one more show at the 02 in the new year for those of us who could not be there for the final two nights, and for those who were and want to go again? Not too much to ask surely. Please?
We went last year at the O2 and sadly no-one else could get to the concert last night — so I went on my own! Bit strange dancing away in the row with hardly anyone with me but worth it!
Mick you are the best and we need another Farewell Tour next year for all your fans who missed seeing you last night!
Fantastic concert — fantastic night xxx
heya Mick and the amazing crew of simply red!
I just really wanted to say that the show from the cinema in Fareham was amazing, the whole place was singing apart from a few miserable people!! I don’t want that to be the last of simply red i love you all very much and im only 14 but my mum and auntie has been supporting you from the very start! we all think that you are AMAZING
love you loads for ever from us all
long live Simply Red:o)
So glad that it was a night to remember for you all. Hopefully a DVD will be available for the rest of us to share the experience and for those to remember it.
Sad, but exciting to see what comes next.
Greetings from Riga, Latvia!
Cinema was fully packed last night and everyone was here for the very last show. Thanks for it!
It was amazing and sad!
But i do belive that Mick will stay with music no matter what. It ll be sth else, but it still will be Mick! I ll wait!
Hello Mcik and Simply Red.
It was a great show to see it in the cinema in Holland.
So nice to see the girls back and some other people in the band!
Great setlist, i enjoyed it verry much.
I hope that you all come back one day as a band.
Paul from Holland.
Amazing cinema experience. We saw the show from a cinema in Holland (Spijkenisse) and it was really great! I hope this will inspire other great artists to share such moments on one moment all over the world!! Compliments for the production. Camerawork was really outstanding! We could see everything that happened on stage and sometimes it felt if we were in O2 London.
Thanks for this perfect night!
Firstly, thank you to the web site for providing the A block tickets at a decent price and the ease of collecting the tickets from ‘all bar one’ good idea! provided a lot of entertainment around us during the concert as there were a lot of very drunk people, my daughter (25) has decided that ‘old people’ ie my age (50) should get out and practise drinking more as we dont seem to handle it too well! got to say there was a lady in lower tier seating near us who slept through the concert until the last song!
anyway, back to the concert, a brilliant finale to a spectacular band who have never fail to deliver anything but their best. i laughed, i cried and was delighted but sad. actually cant believe this morning that simply red are no more to be seen, i am telling myself that i have been lucky to have seen them over the years plenty of times and have memories that will last for ever. wishing all the band continuing success in the future with thanks for the last 25 years of dedication. denise xx
.….What a weekend, O2 on Saturday.…Bluewater Cinema on Sunday.…both equally amazing. Micks muisc has been a huge part of my life for the whole 25 years…No need to be sad the CD’s are still there!!! Look forward to seeing Mick doing other things in the future…really enjoyed Tribute to Bobby and am sure there’s more different stuff to come. Highlight of the weekend??? Romy coming on stage xxxxxxxx
What an emotionally charged evening. 25 years following the fortunes of a band is a long time. All the memories attached to so many wonderful songs. Simfy you will be sorely missed. It’s not really sunk in yet that it’s the end of the road. Thanks to Mick and the guys for a fantastic show! Thought you could’ve said a bit more between numbers but no matter. You have been loved x
P.S We stayed up there for the whole day.Went to see the Rat Pack in Drury Lane which was brill. Then went to the cimena was great watching it live, but not the same as being there, cried when Romy came onto the stage and Mick picked her up kissed her and walked of the stage. What a great weekend !!!! Love to all — Julie xx
The send off the guys got from the o2 was SIMPLY AMAZING. I shed a few tears at the end but the music was spectacular you did an amazing job all of you thankyou for giving us something we will never forget, the music!!
Simply red forever
Kimberley Canterbury
Have been sad for not to be there but my thought.…
…I don’t want to say you goodbye
FOVEVER RED.…LOVE YOU
GRAZIE MICK

Fantastic concert — Mick was excellent as ever — sad to see the end of something that has been so good but the next chapter I am sure will be just as brilliant. We saw the concert live at the cinema in Paignton and were very pleasantly surprised by the experience it was the next best thing to being there live and in some ways better as we could see all the band close up as the cameras panned round.
Fantastic .
What a brilliant show, Mr Hucknall you were superb with vocals as great as when you started.
Simply Red have been part of my life and memories for 25 years and i thank you for all the wonderful music that you have provided.
I cried when Holding back the Years was sung with such deep emotion, it rung true when Mick said Simply Red are no more.….….…x
What a wonderful night I and my friend had last night at our local cinema. Admittedly, the thing lacking was the atmosphere of being at the concert venue itself surrounded by the huge audience but we both thoroughly enjoyed the show. Great to see Chris, Dee, John and Sarah back again for the final show and wonderful to see Romy leave the stage with Mick. Thank you for all the wonderful memories and music of the Early and Red years and looking forward to the future.
I saw the show last night in a cinema in the Netherlands… Unfortunately, the sound was not that good, but the screen was huge, so we could see everything perfectly. Think that this was a good way to attend the last Simply Red show ever.
This morning I woke up and realized I had a dream about their come-back ;-) Wishfull thinking, I quess !
I wish every SR fan a good recovery from 25 years SUPER music from our favorate band ! Take care all..and for Mick :
Hope to see / hear you soon again !
Lots of love.. Xx Marian
Gutted couldn’t make it because of the snow, was due to go with my brother in memory of our Dad. I hate snow grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!
We saw this concert in the Northampton cinema. It was fantastic!!Not as good as being there but wonderful anyway. It was a nice touch at the end when little Romy came to see her Dad.We look forward to the video download.Simply Red may have ceased but with all the CDs and DVDs and photos they will still be going in our house!!Thank you for 25 years, you were fantastic.
There are no words, … except thank you for your music, beautiful songs and a perfect ending !!!
The show was brilliant, thank you Mick, I can’t belive it’s over.
The audience at the Budapest-Cinema was not at the top, except the girls who went down to the screen at the end, and danced along.
Eva from Hungary
Oh what a night! Macey Gray was fantastic! A great start to an unforgetable evening. As always Mick and the Band didn‘t dissappoint. One hit after another. 25 years on and they are the still the best live band I have ever seen! Thank you one and all for everything, my catalogue of CD‘s and dvd‘s will remind me constantly of an outstandng evening!!!!! Fingers crossed for a DVD of the last night at the O2!
Thanks again, love you all
Sue XXXX
Una noche inolvidable para todos los fans que desde el cine en Barcelona pudimos disfrutarlo. Ojala esto no sea un adiós y sí un “hasta luego”. You are fantastic, ” simplemente los mejores” gracias por tantos años de buena música.
excellent evening even if I was only at a cinema, and yes we were clapping and singing along.…..thanks for all the music
I saw the concert from a cinema in Mick’s home town of Manchester,it was fantastic they played all my favourites. Although the end was very sad the song was fitting and what a lovely way to end with his beautiful daughter Romy coming to collect her daddy. The last shot we got in the cinemas was Mick walking down the steps off the stage and both Romy and Mick turned to each other and he gave her a kiss, the cameras then turned off.…could not have been more magical and ended better even if it had been planned..Brilliant everyone put there all in to this the last performance and it showed..Mick a Manchester Legend sheer class love…
May have been brilliant but the whole thing is soured by the poor treatment of fans on sat. Mick and the band could have control to make some sort of compensation to those who simply just couldn’t get there. Do the right thing.
I just say Thank You so much Simply Red!!!!!!!! Thank You fans around the world. For all the happiness and joy in our lives. I became a Simply Red fan in 1992 and i can’t say goodbye and the Simply Red will aways remain in my heart.
Peace!!!!!!!!
Alex
It’s so sad! But at least i hope you release a DVD of the last show with a couple of songs of the whole farewell tour as special features or something! Including Mexico Please XP
Love you guys!…
Erik From Mexico

Just arrived home after the O2 gig, I would not have missed it for the world. Absolutely faultless as usual. This was the twelfh time I have seen Simply Red live, they have always been note perfect.
After checking with the webmaster at Simply Red info this morning if the gig was going ahead, they replied instantly confirming it was, I set out from Essex/Suffolk borders in eight inches of snow, mile and half down unmade track, four miles to the nearest B road & got there in good time so glad I made the ‘EFFORT’. Nice to meet Ian again after eighteen years, also Kenji, Kevin and Dave, for the first time, good of them to call in to see the fans.
Also great to meet Patsy from Luxemburg, and the girl I recognised from the ‘STAY’ DVD. Yours forever ‘RED’ Rebecca.
Wow what a concert tonight, amazing atmosphere, so sad it’s the last tour (ever the optimistic tho, you never know!) but left with some amazing memories over the years, I went to every tour (apart from love and the russian winter) you really have been through the best part of my life in your songs and thank you for all the memories, going to raise my simply red mug in a toast to the most brilliant band and songwriting over the last 2½ decades, cheers Mick, lovely to see beautiful Romy on stage with you too (what a memory for her to be with her amazing dad on stage) thanks again for a great show tonight, we are still left with all your songs, and I love the live dvds of your concerts so hoping this one will definitely be released soon, well done Simply Red, Mick you are a true star ♥ xxx
Gracias por todo Simply Red. Siempre estarán con nosotros.
Gracias Mick por tus lindas canciones tan llenas de amor.
Siempre serás como el vino, cada año que pase.… mejor.
Besos desde Chile.
What a wonderful night. The atmosphere was electric and, as usual, Mick was on top form. Reality hit home when Mick said at the end “Simply Red are no more”.
Just can’t believe it’s over…
What a weekend! Last nights concert was superb real buzz in the o2 we had a blast!
This evening was different with a sad and electric kind of vibe in the arena, we loved every minute and we all knew it was truly the end! Simply Red was literally faultless in everyway and Micks vocal was a strong as I have seen in 25 years!
Lovely to little Romy True Hucknall on stage with her old man Mick Hucknall!
Simply Red it’s been a blast the last 25 years, Thank You for all the memories and your music!
raytom.
Thank you for all those years — now we are left with some fantastic albums, DVDs, memories and hope!
“That’s all I have today
It’s all I have to say.…..”
I saw the show at our local cinema, it was amazing despite the fact only 7 people were watching it…I felt I was actually there as the cameras were mainly concentrating on the stage, at one time I felt I could lean forward and ruffle Mick’s wonderful locks, or whisper in Johns ear, as we were standing so close…the tears started early for me, after I spied a lone tear trickle down Kevin’s face as Mick sang ‘Everytime we say goodbye’..it was very moving and the tissues were moving around the cinema at great speed..sadly as all Simply Red gigs the time went quickly and it was all over. It was very special to see lots of my Simply Red friends in the front row, engrossed in what was a fabulous show, very fitting for Simply Red who never fail to please.Thank you to whoever came up with the idea of showing at the cinema, it really softened the blow for me after not being able to get to 02 yesterday…I cant believe its all over…I’m missing you already…x
I saw the concert in Guadalajara city and i love simply red
Thanks for you music, is the best

I came from Brazil for this magic moment.
The great show. Your voice is wonderfull.Romy True and Daddy… I will never forget.Be Happy!
Wow what can I say! An amazing end to an amazing career! Mick and the band were on top form. And a brilliant added bonus was bumping into half the band wandering around the O2! Thanks guys, got some great pictures to go with the memories! Can’t believe its all over yet it was hard to be too sad because the show was so uplifting! Thanks again for an evening we will never forget! In the words of Mick ‘you know we’ll meet again some sunny day’! All our love Janet, Paul and Ellen. Xxx
unfortunately here in Brazil is not going to any movies. I think I forgot the Brazilian fans.
Unfortunately here in Brazil the show was not exibidonos cinemas and have not had the pleasure of attending last show.mais congratulations for 25 years of pure success. Simply Red has been and always will be the best.
Went to see the concert at the pictures on the Fulham Road — only 15 people in there — me and my mates had the best time danced all night!!!
Thanks Mick and the Band!!!
As always you blew us away!!!!
XXXXXX
Just got back from the best Simly Red concert I have ever seen — and boy have I seena few over the last 25 years! We had the most amazing seats ever at the front and Mick and the band sang their hearts out.
I’d like to thank you all for the great pleasure you have given me over the years with your music. You still sound and look as good as you did at the start of your career and I shall miss you all.
Thank you thank you thank you for a wonderful evening — I’m lost for words. I only cried once and little Romy dancing onto the stage to her Daddy was a lovely sight. Maybe in a few years she’ll be following in your footsteps.
Kym xx
Have just returned from watching Simply Red in a cinema in Malaga — just the best concert ever. I saw them live in 1988 — and regret not following them afterwards. The most amzing, electrifying performance — the vocals of Mick — the backing singer — the power of the sax, the depth of the bass.…I could go on.….….… Thank you Simply Red
Fabulous cinema experience exceeding all expectations…a truly superb experience! The production was outstanding. We felt as if we were on the stage with Simply Red. Great night…Good Luck to you all in the future.
Thank you again
Well we can honestly say that the cinema experience (Paignton Seafront in Torbay) exceeded all expectations. Absolutely fabulous Simply Red. The resolution and up closeness of it all was outstanding. We were up clappping and cheering you on!Thank you Mick and all the Band for 25 years of superb music that will live on an on!
Fabulous fabulous night which finished with Mick walking from the stage with his beautiful daughter in his arms…Heres to the New Future!

I saw the concert in Budapest in a cinema.
Brilliant performance from a brilliant group.
Thank you for your music!
I love YOU!
Simply Red = Simply the BEST!

Crushed that no cinemas in USA showing concert
From Brazil, stuck in Paris for 2 days… Not
able to make it — plane, car, bus, train. Such a sad ending for a so expected date. I do hope it hasn’t been a lost weekend for so many loyal fans. Whenever I get there, it’ll be an empty week in London…
