What a brilliant evening… first ever trip to the races, followed by a live performance from one of the best bands in the world. all for the bargain price of £20.00.
Lost a load of money on the horses but the gig more than made up for it! Nice one Mick!!!
Got to say went to see Simply Red at Haydock Park never expecting to be caught up in the middle of a race meeting, was totally devestated couldn’t get any where near the stage,in the first instance the tickets I purchased originally I was told weren’t actually for sale given alternative tickets in the County stand amongst all the race goers. I think the fact that Simply Red were performing after the race meeting could have/should have been advertised because horse racing is not for us. I’m sorry to say we didn’t stay, this isn’t the first time Iv’e seen them lets hope Sheffield in December is better. A very disappointed Simply Red fan.
Well I did actually make it to this one after all thanks to Italiastar from the site forum! tried to buy a ticket weeks ago but it was sold out. tried every avenue possible including Ebay but was not gonna fill someones wallet with a grossly inflated price. Well on morning of gig got confirmation that Haydock Thistle hotel had a few tickets for sale so after a couple of phone calls was on my way up there.
Called at the Thistle paid for my ticket and onto the gig. Was an early arriver so joined the 2 lady fans already in Pole Position at the concert stage and took up a prime viewing position alongside them. Was good to meet you Tracy and Margaret and enjoyed your company at the gig.
Despite it spitting with rain we were lucky and it held off and although cooler than the recent run of outdoor gigs it thankfully stayed dry, even Mick remarked that it was a ‘bit nesh!’ fantastic concert as ever with all of the boys giving their all as usual! Another memorable night on the Farewell Tour to be treasured forever. Only one thing marred the night — an unpleasant woman behind us who seemed intent on ‘enjoying’ herself by spoiling it for others! First a guy behind her who objected to being barged into being told to ‘F*** off’ and then Margaret who merely asked her to step back a little got the same treatment! Other than that a great night was enjoyed by all.
Cant wait till the December run of gigs now!
What an amzing night Mick was gorgeous as usual.Sooo worth having my eyes lasered twice…Got 2 c clearly.Cant wait 2 c him in December. Please sing Go Now I love that song.xxx
