Yet another fantastic night with Mick & the band (worth the trek from Cornwall) Thank you for singing me through my life. Looking forward for more! whatever/where ever that might be…
(Sorry we missed you in Tenerife!!!gutted)
Thank you Simply Red
ps sadly we were late for Macy Gray too, not intentional — we were given the wrong time table! She was excellent — who was the brilliant support singer with the white afro??
Well had a fab night on the 14thDec Birmingham NIA, What a voice my mother came to see you and my daughter we had such a fantastic night, We travelled from Wales Aberdare to hear you sing the band where great. Also would like to say Macy Grey was brill as well will be buying her CD, I’ve got nearly all yours.. Take Care .…. FAB!!!!What a experience !!!!
Just wanted to say a big Thankyou to Mick and the band for the fabulous concert at the NIA on Dec 14th. My hubby first introduced me to Simply Red when we got married in 1985 so we’ve followed Mick and the fantastic band all our married life! Been lucky to see you Mick several times and can honestly say you are THE BEST live singer of all time. I never fail to admire your truly wonderful voice which appears to be delivered with such ease! We danced the night away as usual and had a lovely surprise the next day to find we featured on a YouTube clip which is a lovely souvenir from our last time seeing you. Good luck with the next phase everyone XxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxX
ps Come on you Reds! On course to reclaim the premiership title!
Thanks again Mick
Love Tina XxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxX
Fabulous, I thought it was better without the backing singers who are not needed with Micks voice. Watching the video from simfylive I think maybe Kenji uses a sampling effect on one song as he starts strumming guitar and then stops but the sound carries on then he plays over that. Other than that i dont think anything is prerecorded.
Was hoping for a little more of a spectacle like the stars tour when Ian went on the wire! but overall a classy concert without being too showey.
What a night — FABULOUS as always. Mick seemed so relaxed and comfortable as usual, did think it odd that the girls were missing, they have been an important part of the last 25 years. Couldn’t beleive how quickly the time went — it seemed you had only been on for 10 mins and then you were gone. So sad that the band will not play together again, you really are all amazing. Will be their on Sunday at the O2. I have my tissues at the ready. I can’t wait to see you again then but also I don’t want to as it will be the last time.
Ditto !!! Ditto!!! DITTO !!! to all of the above comments…No more to say,no surprises just the usual raw talent of some exceptional musicians doing what they do best..Yes Brilliant all of the guys worked their little butts off for nearly 2 hours of pure magical emotional bliss…(shame the girls werent there i did miss them..)but I cant say anymore Absolutely Fabulous..A HUGE WELL DONE to Simply Red for all that they have achieved over the years and an even bigger THANKYOU for doing it for us…you have never dissappointed…thanx again ..happy christmas to all enjoy a good rest and looking forward to any new ventures to come in the future..xxxxxxxxxxxx
Well what can I say. Another fabulous night with Simply Red. Mick you were stunning as always. I will sorely miss Simply Red.
As you have said before, thank you for all those years.……
What more can we say? A wonderful night, amazing atmosphere, loved every minute and didn’t want it to end. Great to hear ‘Never never love’ and the set for Stars was brilliant. Thanks Mick and the band — we had a ‘real good time’. And thanks for all the wonderful music, joyful times and great shows you’ve given us over the years.
Well, what a night!!!! Fantasic show thoroughly enjoyed it all!! Great atmosphere to mark an end to a wonderful era. Fans young and old proud to be there to celebrate maybe the woman in front of us on the second row block B went a bit far thou — good on ya Mick im glad you told her to “Calm Down” would of been better if you had hit her with the mic stand im sure others around would have appreciated it too — screachin like a mental banshee every 5 mins, bet her hubby would of been glad too!!! Does anyone else remember Karen 43 times with the cat named after Mick himself lol xxx
absolutley breath taking micks singing is still breath taking. Did not stop singing and dancing all night. I did not want the night to end. Two days have gone by and still singing.
Never forget that night, what a way to celebrate my birthday.
WOW superb night — mick has a reall iconic voice that really takes your breath away — my first and last time seein my favourite band of all time — but at least Mick will be doin a solo career (so I’ve herd)so even if Simply Red have disappeared — one guy wont. really loved it from start to finish — cudn’t stop singin from the first line of Come To My Aid — to the last line of Holding Back The Years (so much so my voice went!! — lol) — can’t really pick a favourite song as they were all done with excpetional muscians and vocalists — but Stars has been and always will be my favourite track
fantastic night didnt want it to end fantastic 25years of enjoying simply red x
WOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEE cannot find the words to describe you all. Been to several of your shows this final tour, you are absolutely stunningly fantastic.….and you Mick as always are orgasMICK ;) good luck to you all forever. Mandyxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Took my husband as a suprise 40th birthday pressie. It was a great show! I’m not a major fan but i knew alot of the words! Danced the night away and had such a fab time. What an incredible voice he has…beautiful. Loved Macey Grey’s version of ‘Creep’. She was great too. Husband very happy man!!!
A brilliant, brilliant evening once again. Never disappointed when we come to see you Mick — what a voice and presence on stage. Absolutely love the band, you are a tallented great team. Atmosphere was electric and we danced and sang along with you Mick right from your opening number. Hello to Phil and Annie who we met in the bar and amazingly were sitting close to during the gig — so pleased you enjoyed your first Simply Red concert — we said you would! Wishing you all continued success in the future.
Fantastic evening…such a talented guy with a great band behind him, was a shame people were arriving so late i thought that was very rude as macy was great! My first time seeing simply red and it blew me and my husband away.i danced throughout it much to the disgust of some people…excuse me but it was a concert was it not and who can go see them and not dance? BRILLIANT NIGHT
Well after 25 years what can you say absolutely magical as usual, just didn’t want the night to end a few tears but what can you expect after a concert like that . they all gave it thier all fantastic . Massive thanks to Mick and the Band for 25 years of Heaven .xx
Attended last night travelling from Cardiff.Seen Mick perform many times,Last night 100% as normal.Seems to be suffering from a virus so vocals not spot on all of the time.Needs to rest his silky voice. Also have to say sound from the band at times seemed not to be in sync seemed to be the pre recorded music.Ian Kirkham seemed concerned a few times.
Good luck in your future projects after your welle earned rest.See you in a couple of years as Mick Hucknall and band.
Lee and Paula Crofts
What a fantastic night, he was unbeliveable — never had the chance to see him before and knew this was the last chance.
He did not disappoint — so many good songs.
Fantastic show last night guys, Great time had by all.
Mick your a LEG END xxx
Another awesome concert from Simply Red, Mick you are sounding better than ever. Shame it was the last time. You are simply the best!
Well, what a wonderful night even if the accoustics were a little dodgy to start with. Had a few emotional tears but well worth seeing. Going again tonight and then off to London on Sunday. Thanks for the last 25 years Mick and the team and so many wonderful concerts. Well done x

Romantic, beautiful incredible music. Simply Red are simply the very best.
My wife was in tears.
Absolutely breathtaking! Mick’s voice gave me goosebumps throughout the concert!
What a fantastic night last night, Mick and the boys at their best as always, no gimmicks, just raw talent, Mick looking as sexy as ever, and the best voice on this planet, tinged with sadness that this is the end of the best 25 years of music, but looking forward to see what Mick has planned after a well earned rest.
it was an absolutely fantastic concert i was just mesmerised, did not want the night to end,i can still hear mick singing now, good luck to mick and his band for the near future.I wish i was going to tonights concert at the N.I.A.But to all that will be going you like me never want it to end
Thank you Mick and all the guys for another fantastic night in Brum. Sadly my final chance to attend a SR gig (except for the cinema on Sunday). It’s sad that this is the end of the SR era but I’m keeping positive and looking forward to the future and the new music style.
Im planning on travelling by train tonight, however my last train is 11.35, what time did they finish, any help would be appreciated
What can I say! Simply Red were just Simply Amazing from the moment they came on we were up on our feet and never stopped, this was and incredible show, such a shame it is the end! Huge thanks for 25 years of fantastic music!!!!
Just back from the NIA and the 3rd gig of my mini tour. Yet another fantastic performance from Mick and the band. Was a new experience seeing them at the NIA after so many years at the NEC but still soooo good.
Have to admit to the odd tear during the performance as I realised I will see Simply Red perform live only two more times and thats it after 25 years of following the band! :-(
Just the vinyl, cassettes and CD’s and Video’s and DVD’s if I want some of that fantastic music and to see them performing!
Looking forward to Sheffield and the final O2 gigs but that final gig will be hard to take. So hope that Mick decides to make a return as SR in a year or two after doing whatever else he has set his heart and soul on pursuing. If you do Mick we will all be there to see you in sold out arenas once more.
Great show and performance from Mick and the band tonight. Travelled all the way from the US to see him live and enjoyed every minute, even with the sound in the NIA not being that great… Already have tickets for tomorrow night…we can not get enough…
Macy Gray is also a great performer but we thought it was a bit unfair from the audience to start showing up while she was performing and not giving her the attention/credit she deserves.
Cheers and see you all tomorrow!
And by the way, the simfy live/usb stick is awesome!
Just been very fortunate to see Mick and co live tonight at the NIA. What a wonderful evening, the concert was brilliant, they are all so incredibly good live.
Back home after another fantastic night seeing Mick and the boys again. Wonderful concert, different set order to Sundays gig, but enjoyed it all the same. Took my brother tonight, he loved it, I am going again tomorrow, got ticket tonight. Bring it on.
