  8. red rose says:

Sorry — almost forgot to say how good the support was in Dublin and Belfast — former Irish busker Ryan Sheridan and his sidekick, Arthur playing Irish drum — amazing!! Cracking choice — check him out.

  9. red rose says:

I’ve run out of words to describe what hasto be the best party ever!!!!! The atmosphere in the Odyssey was unbelievable — RED HOT!!!!
Mick sounded perfect — no need to apologise for your hoarse throat, you sounded as great as ever to me! What a Star!
Now I’m counting the days to December — we shall all miss Simply Red more than can be expressed in mere words but you will live on in our hearts and minds (and on our CD players!) forever.

I am still hearing the echo of your voice Mick as am trying to sleep. Most memorable songs for me are “for your babies and Stars” Mick you made the hairs stand on the back of my neck as the quality of your voice sounded as if you were, first time singing these hit songs.……even though I was half way up the auditorium to your left it sounded so personally sung to me.
will always be your fan and I hope and wish for you,to have the health and happiness to keep singing to all our hearts. Many many thanks for all those memorable years.
olé olé olé olé olé olé xxxxxxxxx miss you already.

  11. Hi Mick and crew, I was in Belfast last night for the farewell concert (row 6, waving the glow sticks). I just have to say how fab you all were, even with a flu you rocked the arena! I don’t think i’ve ever sang as loud, strong or as proud in all my life. It was wonderful to be a part the concert, even my 19yr old daughter sang her heart out. (She’s a massive fan too). I can’t wait to hear your new solo music, don’t keep us waiting to long Mick. Goodbye and thankyou for 25 wonderful years. We’re gonna miss you Red. X

  12. kelly mc says:

What can I say.…AMAZING..OUTSTANDINGFANTASTIC.. I could go on but it was SIMPLY a brilliant performance yet again!! I have seen 5 Simply Red concerts and each time it just got better, what an amazingly smooth voice Mick has (even while he is recovering from flu)!! Simply Red as a band will truly be missed, But thank you for the last 25 years, and good luck for your future-whatever you all decide to do!!xxxxxxxx

  13. Stevie Mac says:

What can you say about the last ever Simply Red gig in Ireland? The last one … ever!!! It seems surreal that on a wet and windy November night in Belfast, this amazing band played their last ever concert in Ireland to a packed Odyssey Arena. You could feel the emotion as Mick went through the hits and highlights of an amazing career. I couldn’t help thinking that here was the sound-track to my adult life, never to be heard live again from these incredible musicians! Enough to make a grown man shed a tear, and I did.

Mick — we can never thank you enough for your music, your brilliant songs and passionate performance. I wish you well in your future, whatever it brings.

  14. Will says:

    Absolutely amazing!

Simply Red generated an absolutely electric atmosphere, with Mick still proving he has the pipes to do it!

He apologised for having a flu and that he may be a bit hoarse, but it did not detract from his performance at all, his singing was perfect and had more energy than a nuclear reactor!

The band were fantastic, backing Micks vocals up with note perfect accompaniment.
A plethora of hits were belted out, from the early Reagonomic “Money’s Too Tight To Mention”, through the soulful “Stars” and “For Your Babies” through to the dance-inspired “Fairground” (which really got the crowd going) and the Reggae-style “Night Nurse”.
“If you don’t know me by now” was a particular hair-standing-on-end moment.

While the Odyssey may not be the biggest arena Simply Red play, they still made sure that they put on a fantastic show for the Belfast crowd!
    An excellent night out.

  15. Mags says:

WOW! What can I say? My husband and I were just blown away by the concert tonight in the Odyssey Arena!Mick was in fine form and the band were truly amazing. So glad we got the chance to participate with the rest of the audience in this soul stirring performance.Wishing Mick and the band well for the next leg of their tour. Mags x

  16. Martay Galbraith says:

    Guys,

Such a fantastic night! It was very special indeed! you had the whole of the Odyssey Arena on its feet! Hard to fit 25 years into a 2 hour show but you made it possible. Mick complained that he was feeling hoarse and apologised if any notes were slightly off.….one word to describe it was flawless. As always. I had a great night tonight guys, you will be missed! such great talent! Good luck for everything and anything you choose to do in the future! :)

  17. Gerry says:

Never seen the odyssey with such a great atmosphere and love for a band. What a velvet voice and a great showman! First time seeing them, amazing!!! Man u for the league!

  18. Sam says:

    Wow.

Absolutely fantastic. I think Mick is one of them very few artists in this world who sounds better live than recorded. And given that he’s amazing recorded that is quite a compliment.

I could watch him perform all night, not only for the music but for his presence on stage. He truly looks like he’s enjoying himself and it’s clear it’s not just for the money.

Sorry to see Simply Red go but in any event good luck to Mick for the future and thank you for 25 years!

    Olé, olé olé olé!

  19. Debs says:

Mick, your voice just gets better! Absolutely fantastic concert in belfast, thoroughly enjoyed it, you will be sadly missed. All the best with the rest of your tour. xx

  20. Lynn Anderson says:

The Odyssey really rocked tonight, it was fabulous! Thanks for 25 years of music!
