This was about the 14th time we have seen Mick, he was great as usual but as others have said thought the concert was a little short and a bit disappointed in the choice of songs, venue was OK but did not like the way we were herded like cattle for miles through peoples cars only to end up back where we started almost –we loved seeing him at the Arebetoreum in Glos last year much better venue. But for all that we loved Simply Red and are looking forward to the TV show tomorrow night and seeing them live at the O2 in december for the last time, hope the play list is different though.

  2. Lesley R says:

I travelled all the way from Australia — and it was worth EVERY penny that I spent — took my Mum and Brother (who was a bit hesitate about going to see Simply Red) boy did he have a great time — sung most of the songs and danced like he was a teenager again — I simply loved it — and I am looking forward (in a sad way) to seeing them again in Melbourne even though I know it will be the last time — JUST GREAT
    thanks a lot

    18 SONGS?
    HERE WAS 21 SONGS

  10. Sue says:

.….I forgot to mention that I also thought the support Jay and the Boys were excellant. Well done to them!

  11. Sue says:

Absolutely brilliant as always never fails to please!!! Just thought it seemed a bit short and now having seen the setlist only 18 songs instead of the usual 21, I wonder why? But still fantastic never the less.

  12. Nancy says:

    Mick,
What an amazing concert! We’ve been to many of your concerts before, but this time we travelled all the way from Belgium.
For the first time I heard you sing Heaven at a concert! My absolute favorite song!
Looking forward to see you in Antwerp in December.
    Brilliant!

  13. Julie M says:

Had a fantastic time watching Mick and the band, managed to get right at the front at the side on the right. Mick sang note perfect as always and he made us feel very involved in each song. Ian on the Sax was amazing as well!
Must also say Jay and the Boys were excellent and definately a band to watch out for. Well done boys. xxx

  14. Chris D says:

The 6th time I have seen you and the band play live and each time it gets better. What a wonderful setting and a great party atmosphere. Will be there at the front at Brighton on 10th July. Fantastic! x

  15. Julie says:

Excellent evening Mick, your voice was amazing. We loved the old track Heaven and the whole set. We got to the front and John my husband really got into things dancing and waving his arms! I did miss my favorite track You Make Me Feel Brand New, when I first heard this in Brighton, some years back I really fell in love with you Mick. If you could squeeze it in for the Brighton concert it would make me very happy, as I suppose, but cannot believe, it could be the last time we hear you sing it live.

    Please never stop making music.

    Love you Mick

    Julie

  16. Susie says:

Forgot to say, the warm-up tracks should be put out on CD/download — some brilliant tunes on it — in particular Donny Hathaway and Al green.

  17. Susie says:

Jay & the Boys were excellent — best support act to SR I have seen — I hope they do well in the future — a real good sound.

It was great to hear a few different tracks from Mick and the Boys (!) What happened to “More”? I’m sure I heard this in the sound check and was looking forward to hearing this live again (RAH 2005 with great lighting effects). Hope it comes up in one of my next planned outings — along with “You’ve got it” — still waiting for that one. Super atmosphere where I was (to right of stage, facing) and the band appeared really relaxed — good to see Ian coming to the fore for some of his solos and he spoke!

Great venue tho’ I’m glad we were there promptly and didn’t have to walk to the end of the queue which must have gone on for ages judging by the number of people who went past us in the 2 hour wait! Also beneficial for exiting as we got away really quickly and back home to Guildford before midnight!(singing all the way)

Here’s to the next one — can’t wait!

  18. Glyn says:

Left it too long to see you ‘live’ it was absolutely brilliant I had a smile on my face and couldn’t keep still from the minute you were on stage! I’ve ‘wasted all those years” not coming to see you but last made up for it. Keep going!! xx

  19. K Saunders says:

Last night was the first time i say simply red live as i was working security in the pit, i have to say i thought they were brilliant.

  20. Sue M says:

Thank you so much for a wonderful evening. Beautiful setting and excellent company. And YES, we do love you more than football Mick!
Took my parents with us for the first time, huge fans for many years, they had yet to experience you live. And they loved it. Knew they would!
Thought Jay and the Boys were great too, as always your supporting acts are first class.
Thanks again, See you on the 19th December, XX

  21. Jackie Day says:

WOW!! What can i say, a brillant evening, i last saw Mick and Simply Red, in 1989, if memory serves right, at Wembley Arena, that was a brill evening, Mick has a outstanding voice, have been a fan all these years!
