What to say? An amazing, magical night. A raw passion and energy in the performances which was spell-binding. Mick draws you in to that magic web where the rest of the world drops away, and you never want to leave.

What can I say except to agree with what has already been said. Thank you Mick for another superb performance. A wonderful night to add to other memories of your concerts over the past years.

Aspellbinding concert, one of the best ever, made a 53 year old woman feel like the 23 year girl she was when she started Simply Red concerts 30 years ago. Have lost count of the number of concerts since !! but 53 is a funny age and you need reminders of who and what you were back then and Mick did this as always, beautiful , lithe , boundless energy and enthusiasm at a gig which was very upmarket lol. Great acoustics but think the Bobby Bland Wolverhampton Civic was a better venue for Mick, though not as close to me as Symphony Hall but ive been further afield for him and will continue to. You make me feel so young ….. int he words of the famous song…. and no doubt always will. Thank you for being AWESOME . LOVE YA xxx

I have followed Mick for the last 30 years and am sorry to say I was left feeling disappointed at this concert. The excited magical feeling of the eighties and nineties performances jumping up out of my seat straight away as soon as he appeared was simply not there. I appreciate he wants to move in other directions but the Simply Red music most fans adore is barely in existence now which is sad.

  6. Julie Hammond Says:

Fantastic night as always, I have been following Mick since 1987/88 New Flame, & love his new stuff. Birmingham Symphony is one of the best venues I think. Off to Cardiff later, even husband is coming tonight. Looking forward to it . x

Great concert for my partners birthday. Symphony hall is a great venue with fantastic acoustics.First saw Simply Red 26 years ago and Mick still has the magic intermixing his new American Soul covers with some old favourites. Only criticism would be that for Mick it was a slightly shorter set

A sublime performance from our finest singer/song writer- thank you for another electric performance Mick (once again, you have assembled an awesome band to match your talents). Only wish more younger people would make the effort to watch an artist of this standard; they then might understand what real music, talent and professionalism is all about and that in fact they are being fooled by the corporate music men (Simon C etc) into buying the synthetic, auto-tuned rubbish they package with descriptions such as global superstar’,'legends’ etc. Keep going Mick. PLEASE!!!!!

  9. Sharon Says:

I was really enjoying this fantastic concert at Symphony Hall and Mick really gave his all. However, I was rather startled by the lady next to me who suddenly jumped up during one of the numbers. I nearly dropped my popcorn! She seemed to be in a little world of her own – a testament, I suppose, to the power of Mick.

Excellent show as usual. This was my 20th S/R – Mick concert and he never disapoints. I just hope Mick tours again soon. Sex on legs you are Mr Hucknall :) xxxxxxx
