On New Years Eve 1999, Simply Red delivered a stunning 4 song set at the British Gas Millennium Party in Greenwich. They opened proceedings with “Fairground” followed by a very well received version of “My Way” then “Holding Back The Years” and “Stars”. Immediately afterwards Mick, Ian Kirkham and Mark Jaimes were given a police escort to The Dome, where they arrived just in time to deliver an epic version of “Wave The Old World Goodbye” for the Queen and other guests and featuring a 98 piece orchestra and full choir! Midnight was seen in backstage at The Dome with Irish group The Corrs and then the party continued through the night back in Greenwich.…..
