On New Years Eve 1999, Simply Red delivered a stun­ning 4 song set at the Brit­ish Gas Mil­len­nium Party in Green­wich. They opened pro­ceed­ings with “Fair­ground” fol­lowed by a very well received ver­sion of “My Way” then “Hold­ing Back The Years” and “Stars”. Imme­di­ately after­wards Mick, Ian Kirkham and Mark Jaimes were given a police escort to The Dome, where they arrived just in time to deliver an epic ver­sion of “Wave The Old World Good­bye” for the Queen and other guests and fea­tur­ing a 98 piece orches­tra and full choir! Mid­night was seen in back­stage at The Dome with Irish group The Corrs and then the party con­tin­ued through the night back in Greenwich.…..
